Gasherbrum II (8035m), Pakistan

A group of American mountaineers traveled to Gasherbrum II (8035m) in Pakistan's Karakoram Mountains with the goal of being the first American ski and snowboard descent of the mountain.

Gasherbrum II ( also known as K4) is the 13th highest mountain, resting on the boarder of Pakistan and China. It is the third highest peak of the Gasherbrum Massif and is classified as being in the Karakoram range of the Himalaya. The mountain measures an altitude of 8035 meters or 26,515 feet.

The weather window they were hoping for never materialized and due to dangerous snow conditions they had to turn back from their summit attempt at 7400 meters.
